About Me:
Hi There.
My name is Jeff Hirsch. I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social worker based at Anchor Counseling Center in Lincoln, RI. I work with adult clients (18 and up) eager to reclaim their lives from the intrusive thoughts, compulsions, fears, and doubts that come along with Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) and anxiety disorders such as Panic Disorder, Phobias, Social Anxiety, and Generalized Anxiety.
I earned my master's degree from Rhode Island College and then completed my post-master's clinical training at Northern Rhode Island CBT, where I focused on treating Anxiety Disorders and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). More recently, I completed advanced training in the treatment of OCD at the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute.
When first meeting clients my goal is to build a relationship based on kindness, curiosity, and respect. (A sense of humor doesn’t hurt either!) Once that foundation is in place I use evidence-based treatments such as Exposure and Response Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Self-Compassion.
I’ve seen firsthand that it’s possible to achieve freedom from Obsessive-Compulsive and Anxiety Disorders. It isn’t always easy. It takes focus, dedication, and tenacity. If you’re ready to try and change your life for the better I’m ready to be the person who helps you every step of the way.
